BISP Tree-Planting Campaign (14th of August 2024)
Climate change is a reality, and Pakistan is also affected. Summers are getting hotter, and unexpected rain is causing floods. The solution is planting trees, which help regulate rainfall, lower temperatures, and turn dry land into green areas. The Benazir Income Support Programme started a tree-planting campaign on the 14th of August.
Rubina Khalid’s Tree-Planting Efforts
To celebrate 14th August, we have launched a tree-planting campaign. Our team members and employees are planting trees in the four provinces of Pakistan, as well as in Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir. This effort is ongoing, and we will continue to plant trees regularly.
You know that environmental pollution is a major challenge in Pakistan. I request the 9.3 million registered families to plant trees in their areas. If each family grows just one tree, we will have 9.3 million trees to help protect Pakistan from natural disasters. Planting trees will also help reduce the impact of heavy rain and landslides.
I want to send a message to the nation: we should always have hope that the lives of Pakistan’s people will get better. If we make it our mission to prioritize Pakistan above all else, there is no doubt we will be on the development path. I am thankful to Shehbaz Sharif for increasing the budget of BISP. Now, we can provide benefits to more deserving families.
Naveed Akbar on Tree-Planting Campaign
Pakistan is heavily affected by climate change, and the impact is damaging. Every year, we experience excessive rainfall due to climate change. Deforestation is also increasing, which leads to extremely hot weather in the summer. Rising temperatures are melting glaciers in the northern regions, causing floods.
This time, Benazir Income Support has launched a campaign named “Sarsabz Pakistan, Benazir Pakistan.” With the help of our employees and beneficiaries across Pakistan, we aim to grow millions of trees. I encourage you to join us and contribute to growing as many trees as possible.
Dr. Asim Ijaz Discusses the Campaign’s Goals
On the 77th birthday of Pakistan, BISP launched a tree-planting campaign. The campaign was held on a large scale at the BISP headquarters in Islamabad and every tehsil and district office. We request all our beneficiaries to plant at least one tree in your area. By doing so, we can help create a better Pakistan for future generations.
Secretary’s Perspective on Growing Trees
Given the impact of climate change, it is our responsibility to address and protect against its negative effects by improving the environment. Planting trees is a simple yet crucial step to tackle this issue. I urge all BISP team members and beneficiaries to join us in this effort. I am pleased to share that our tree-planting campaign was launched on 14th August at over 450 BISP offices.
BISP Aditional Secretary’s Comments
We have launched a new campaign with the mission to grow trees across Pakistan. All BISP team members and beneficiaries have pledged to plant one tree each. Growing trees is crucial for combating environmental pollution and improving our environment. This initiative aims to restore habitats and boost biodiversity for a greener, healthier future.
If each of us grows and cares for one tree, we can collectively plant nearly 10 million trees. We urge all employees and beneficiaries to join this tree-planting campaign. It’s not just about planting trees; it’s essential to care for them until they thrive on their own. Visit the website home page for taleemi wazaif information.
